Nearly one in 10 babies are born premature each year. Of that number, roughly 90 percent survive, including infants born as early as 24 weeks.

While that number is greatly improved since generations ago, we’d like to see every infant survive. That’s why Inspira’s Level IIIa Deborah F. Sager Neonatal Intensive Care Unit is so critically important.

Level IIIa units provide care for babies born before 28 weeks’ gestation. These NICU nurseries typically offer mechanical ventilation and minor surgical procedures to give these tiny patients the best chance for survival.

Inspira’s NICU features Nemours neonatologists and trained NICU professionals on hand 24/7. Critically ill newborns require around-the-clock attention, so parents are often relieved that the expert care of the Deborah F. Sager NICU exists so close to home, reducing the time, stress and expense of travel.

The warm, friendly and personal support that preemies and their families receive at the Deborah F. Sager NICU is a source of hope and strength in times of crisis.

When you choose to donate, you are choosing to give hope to the preemies in our NICU.

Donate today to give these preemies the healthy start they deserve!

Pathway to Miracles

The Deborah F. Sager Memorial Fund (DFSMF) was established in 1978 in memory of Deborah Sager who passed away that same year.Click to Enlarge

In 2012, the DFSMF provided a donation of $250,000 to the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) at the Inspira Medical Center Vineland. In recognition of the gift, the specialized unit was named in Deborah’s memory – The Deborah F. Sager Neonatal Intensive Care Unit. To continue to support the neonatal and pediatric departments, the DFSMF has raised more than $150,000 from donors over the past few years, allowing the fund to continue to support the much needed care for children in need.

At the entryway of the NICU you will find a recognition plaque, entitled “A Pathway to Miracles,” acknowledging gifts to the Fund. See the five levels of giving and learn how you can help pave the Pathway to Miracles>>
